2022 In Review

Annoyance Classroom Door

The Annoyance has always been home to some of my favorite Chicago comedy, and being able to paint critters on the door of a room I took classes in almost a decade ago was an amazing way to start the year.

Gallery Cabaret

The perfect art bar nestled on a quiet neighborhood street, it is always an honor to hang work on these walls.

AnySquared group show at Cole's

Another comedy/art crossover, this legendary open mic spot got covered in artwork for AnySquared's group show Life & Love in Covid Times and I was grateful to have a painting included.

Thanks to DCASE/ Design Museum of Chicago/ Chicago Public Health, all of the artwork created for 2021's Protect Chicago Vaccination campaign was displayed throughout Chicago. Such an awesome lineup of artists!

Creating iO's New Theater Signs

I've been going to iO since I was in highschool, so being able to contribute my artwork to their new space was a dream come true. Now go see a show!!

Two shows at Your Happy Place

Constant curation of good booze and art (thanks to a partnership with blnkhaus), Your Happy Place always has something worth taking home. I was thrilled to be included in two shows this year, the Christmas in July group show, as well as collaborating with Jeff Pak for the Two of a Kind show.

blnkhaus at Royal Grocer

blnkhaus continues to evolve and expand throughout the city, curating excellent shows and events year after year. It was so nice to be back showcasing art with them, this time in the back room of Royal Grocer.

Rev. Billy's Chop Shop Solo Show

Rev. Billy's Chop Shop has an amazing new space on Montrose and Western, and they absolutely maximize it's potential by continuing their tradition of giving local artists solo shows. I loved working with them and couldn't be more stoked on how the show turned out!

Cork Lounge

My favorite bar in Chicago, this place has been the most supportive environment for me since I started showing my work. Thank you for another year of letting me hang on your walls! And thank you for $3.50 PBR drafts all day.

Lemming's

Lemming's rules, and being able to visit my paintings here was definitely a highlight of the year.

I got engaged!

I proposed to AJ and she said yes! While we had a blast collaborating for the Design Museum show, now we're collaborating on the biggest project either of us have ever worked on: our wedding.

Dimo's Pizza Wicker Park

Dimo's Wicker Park not only has one of the best pizza/beer/shot specials in the city, they also give local artists a ton of space to showcase their work. I was so stoked to get to fill their walls again!

Hairpin Arts Center

Hairpin's First Friday events are always loaded with great artists, and I was super grateful to showcase my repeater skulls for the first time publicly here.

Dope Art Show

These shows are always rowdy in the best way, and being able to showcase three paintings for their anniversary show was something I was super hyped on.

Chicago Diner Lakeview

The best milkshake and an incredible meat-free Reuben, I was thrilled to takeover the Lakeview location with my art.

Creating a poster about Lake Michigan for the Free + Open exhibition at the Design Museum of Chicago was incredible, especially because I got to collaborate with AJ Abelman, the love of my life!

12" x 12" Exhibition at Elephant Room Gallery

I've been looking through the windows of Elephant Room since 2011 when I was a student at Columbia. It was surreal to be able to contribute to this group show full of artists I admire.

Dibs show with The Seventh Corner Gallery

The Seventh Corner Gallery shows are all killer, no filler, and I was honored to be asked to contribute to their Dibs show. I can't wait to see what shows they put up in the new year!

The Martin Group Show

A beacon of quality programming, it is always amazing to be able to contribute to anything The Martin does. I'm so happy I was able to include a painting in their last group exhibition of 2022!

Green Eye

With its proximity to the Blue line and the shrimp at Red Hot Ranch, Green Eye has always been a staple for me. I'm so grateful to be able to show my art with them!

Pixie and the Boy Group Show

The perfect place to gift shop for someone cool in your life (even if that person is yourself), I loved being able to hang my Critters in the Wild in this group show!
